There’s been a bit of controversy around the Internet lately regarding childless millennials attending Disney World, getting in the way of the Magic (TM) and ruining kids’ vacations. I hope it’s okay that my boyfriend Jon and I visited Disney World, because we put having fun above anything else and live to embrace our inner child (while enjoying beautiful scenery, delicious food, and some of the best highly-themed rides that exist).

I really enjoyed getting to do p much every single thing that looked fun to me, at my own pace, and eating all of the fun and cute food that I wanted. I think this experience is a bit different from the experience we would have if we end up back in the parks with kiddos some day! My boyfriend and I are big children, and have fun no matter what we’re doing, but we really got to go all out with the fun in Disney World.
Food and atmosphere are probably the most exciting things about Disney for me. Everything’s SO CUTE! Obviously the rides and shows are all amazing, and the parks have some very fun gift shops. I’m a big-time lover of cuteness, and there was plenty of cute there for me, but the food is what I’ve been most excited to tell everyone about.

First thing we did upon arrival was eat. I think we got to the airport at home around 4am, and our flight landed in Orlando around 9am. We dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed straight into Animal Kingdom, so we were 10s on both the tired scale and the hungry scale.
We knew we would be ready to eat as soon as we got into the park, so we had an early lunch reservation at Tusker House. As I read in many reviews, the theming and atmosphere of Tusker House is extremely fun. It’s very safari and cool. The restaurant at lunch time is buffet style, so I got to try a whole buncha stuff.

Here was my first round of plates. This was all freakin’ delicious (which you could probably guess from that picture). Faves were the plantains, the salmon, the mac and cheese, and the banana bread pudding. It was yummy stuff that looked good on a plate, and we got to meet Daisy Duck (pictured a little further above). This was pretty pricey, to be honest, but we got a ton of food, got to see characters in their cute safari-wear, and it was one of our planned splurge meals. The others were Tony’s Town Square and 50’s Prime Time Cafe- most of our meals were counter service. Counter/quick service meals are more budget-friendly, and those tend to have more fun and trendy food options.

The next thing I remember eating was the Crispy Fried Chicken breakfast sandwich at Riverside Mill Food Court. I think this was the next day (by the end, a Disney trip is really all a super fun and magical blur). We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside, which was AMAZING and gorgeous. We wanted food and caffeine ASAP when we woke up, so we stayed on resort property for breakfast. This was really tasty, and for a chicken biscuit sandwich (a notoriously dry food) it wasn’t super dry! Forgot to snap a pic, but I enjoyed.
The next thing I have photo evidence of eating is an order of Mickey Beignets from Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, in the French Quarter portion of our resort. I got strawberry sauce for our beignets. The combo was adorable, sweet, and delicious, which is exactly what I was looking for in all of my Disney food.

For Magic Kingdom lunch we got these Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tots at Friar’s Nook. I did a ton of food research before we went, and this was one of the things I was most excited about. I was not disappointed! We shared it and Jon also got a brat and some plain tots. It was good! It’s something that I feel like we could make at home, so maybe we’ll try that. It was exactly what I expected it to be, and in this instance that is totally a good thing.
I also HAVE to share the beautiful bakery cases at Main Street Confectionary in Magic Kingdom. So many cute and sweet goodies. The line here was a little long, but I really needed a delicious and photogenic cupcake. The wait was worth it. I love the classic candy shop/bakery vibe and I got a bomb-ass cupcake.

It was red velvet and it rocked. The frosting was smooth and cream-cheesey, just as you would want atop a red velvet cupcake. The chocolate Minnie ears were yummy too, of course. This was the afternoon of what I believe was our longest day- I needed the sweet pick-me-up. Below is a pic Jon snapped of me enjoying it while walking into Tomorrowland!

Now, unfortunately, this is all the food I thought to take photos of. I will definitely focus on doing better on my next trip! I feel like, if I have any passions in life, they are food and travel, and I wanna share the love ♡
