Trader Joe’s Holiday Goodies

I LOVE the Christmas and winter holiday season. For the usual reasons, family, togetherness, etc. Yes. But also for the obvious reasons no one usual states- glitter, gifts, and sweets! Trader Joe’s, year round, is a great spot for cheap and unique sweets. Winter is not exception. I went in last week and picked up a few things to try.

Favorite find first. These are BOOOOOMB. They are heavily spiced- if you eat too many, you’ll actually get a warm spicy burn in your throat and on your tongue. Super flavorful and delicious. Icing compliments cookies well. In my area, this was $2.99 and is the size of a regular cereal box. I will be getting another soon, and maybe even another after that.

I love the seasonal Joe-Joe’s that I’ve tried. They’re all flavorful and delicious. The regular ones are really yummy, and actually have a flavor distinct from Oreo’s. In my opinion, they taste more like real food. They are different, so if you expect them to taste like Oreo’s you might be thrown off, but I do love ‘em. This candy cane version is delish, but they have a strong peppermint flavor! There are actually crushed candy canes in the filling, so they get that candy-stuck-in-your-teeth thing happening, and if I eat more than like three at a time my mouth literally feels too cold. Even still, a tasty treat. Do recommend.

I love marzipan so I wanted to try this little cookie/cake/bar thing. Even after eating it I’m not sure what common American dessert category stolen would fall into. Regardless, tasty. It did have way more citrus flavor than I would have liked. Orange peel is right there in the ingredients, so of course that shoulda been expected, but I would have rather had heavier marzipan flavor and less orange.

Now, as alluded to above, I’m not into citrus. I especially don’t like oranges. I didn’t look at the graphics on this bottle to see the grapes (meh) and orange slice (bleh). Also notable, I’m sparkling water-obsessed. I was drawn to the “winter sangria” name and the $0.99 price tag, but I didn’t love this. If it were called “orange grape” or “grape citrus” or something clearly indicative of the flavor, I would have not picked this up, but I’m a sucker for seasonal packaging. If orangey grapey sounds good to you, though, I’d probably recommend it. In general, luv Trader Joe’s sparkling water.

Just grabbed a few things, but wanted to check out some holiday yummies. Trader Joe’s always comes in clutch with cheap and awesome seasonal snacks ♡
