I’ve Missed This Blog!!

Photos in this post are some things that I made during quarantine, before I went back to my full time job (non-essential retail), and also a goofy snap of my puppy!

I’ve obviously been gone for a while. This time in history is really overwhelming and I (along with many others) feel that there are so many important things to be doing and to be speaking on. This coupled with pandemic anxiety has kind of zapped my motivation, AND I haven’t been able to travel and theme parks have been closed (though they are now beginning to reopen).

I actually was planning to take a trip to New York City in April, which obviously could not happen as at that time NYC was the epicenter of the pandemic and it would have been very dangerous to go there, plus nothing would be open :p

I am a person who is still taking this virus very seriously and am taking many precautions every day. I work full time in retail, and it’s been very discouraging to see the amount of guests coming in not wearing masks or respecting social distancing guidelines, and complaining about such precautions as the fitting room being closed and a capacity limit being enforced. Considering that, I’m not really sure when I’ll next be in a park. I do plan to visit one of my semi-local amusement parks, Kings Island or Cedar Point, at some point in the summer. That could change depending on how their first few weeks go and whether a COVID spike follows. I love theme parks but I love not dying even more!! I am planning to visit WDW late next Spring as a chaperone on a school trip, and that’ll probably be the next time I head to Florida. I hope to leave the state for a short trip to another city either early next year or late this year, but of course, that depends on how things go!

With all that being said, I’m gonna be shifting the focus of this blog just a touch. I love researching and writing posts here and love the little community here on WordPress! There are few things that feel as good as seeing views climb on something you’ve worked hard on and gathering a couple of likes on a post that you’re proud of.

Food and travel and theme parks are my for real passion, so that is definitely still going to be the focus of content here! I just need to adapt it to be more feasible in the stay-at-home world. I think this will include some copycat recipes, some fake-planning (like what my itinerary and travel plans would look like if I were actually taking a trip somewhere), more amusement park bucket list posts like this one, and some food reviews from either national chains or local (to Columbus) spots.

How are others in the travel blog community dealing right now? How else are folks adapting their content for this time? Please comment! As of now I plan to post weekly. The day for now will probably vary week-to-week and depend on my work schedule.
