Before I started this blog, I had some really amazing sandwiches. These were had on trips I’ve blogged about before, where, unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures of my food. Thank goodness for the Internet existing, so I can borrow other people’s pictures and share them here 🙂
Let’s start with the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. When we went to the L.A. area last March my boyfriend’s sister recommended a restaurant called Umami Burger, which we ate at twice over the course of our trip. Both times I got the Sam’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich, featuring the obvious crispy chicken, a slaw, some pickles, and their signature ooh-mami sauce. Sounds pretty simple, like your average crispy chicken sandwich, but it is for real the best I’ve had. Maybe it’s the sauce! Please join me in drooling over the photo below.

Best fish sandwich is a tie. The best traditional crispy whitefish sandwich I’ve had was at The Crow’s Nest Restaurant and Marina in Venice Beach, Florida. We always hit up this spot at the end of a Florida trip with members of my boyfriend’s family who live around the Gulf Coast! We both always get the Famous Fish Sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fish and so huge and so crispy, as well as of course fresh and delicious. Pictured below!

The OTHER best fish sandwich I’ve ever had was the Salmon Burger at Clyde’s of Georgetown in D.C. Over this meal, we actually had the idea for me to start this blog!! We didn’t have dinner planned and were just scrolling Yelp for a place to eat near our hotel (right across Key Bridge from Georgetown). This was surprisingly incredibly delicious and I definitely want to have it again. I don’t see it on their menu right now, which is alarming! Hopefully it’s a ~limited menu due to COVID~ situation. The only picture I could find of this sandwich is attached to a tripadvisor review left by a Diane B. I hope this isn’t confirmation that it’s no longer available (crying emoji).

The last sandwich on the list is also in D.C. We HAAAD to visit Good Stuff Eatery for the Prez Obama Burger and Michelle Melt. I had the Michelle Melt! It’s a turkey burger on a multigrain bun with caramelized onions, swiss, tomato, and an herb mayo. One of the best turkey burgers I’ve had at a restaurant 🙂

There are many more sandwiches out there to be had, and I’m exited to someday update this post after I’ve tried more and gained some more favorites!!
