There are a couple of days left until Halloween, making it the perfect time to get comfy with some snacks and watch your favorite spooky movies. Need some ideas for cool things to make? I have some! Keep reading!
I made buffalo chicken dip, Oreo bark, and a butterscotch-coated popcorn. It was all super warm and tasty, great for a festive and cozy celebration.

Buffalo chicken dip is one of the great snacks that seems like it took a lot of effort but is so easy it doesn’t actually need a recipe. I mix two packages of cream cheese (I cube it so it’s easier to mix), two cans of fully-cooked chunk chicken, half a bag of shredded cheese, about a cup of wing sauce, and a good splash of ranch (or blue cheese I guess, if you’re gross). You can totally use rotisserie chicken or make your own shredded chicken, but I think shredding chicken is the worst so I like using the cans for this lol. For wing sauce, I love the Sweet Baby Ray’s medium buffalo, but you can use whatever sauce you’d like- even regular hot sauce. After mixing well, I top with the rest of the shredded cheese and bake at 350… until I feel emotionally ready to take it out (or until it gets bubbly and the edges brown a little bit, probably 10 minutes). You can serve this with so many things- I did tortilla chips, club crackers, and celery.

Next up is something that I love making on any occasion- Oreo bark. I love doing this with mint Oreos in the winter, and I’ve enjoyed a version with white chocolate to experiment with seasonal flavors. This time, I really wanted to use the Halloween Oreos with the bright orange cream, but those were sold out everywhere.
Anyway, this is another super simple snack that doesn’t need a recipe. Throwing stuff together is kind of my thing. My mom taught me this one though, so shout out to my mom. First, throw a sleeve of Oreos in a gallon freezer bag and crush them up. I use a rolling pin, but a meat hammer would probably be more efficient if you have one of those. Next, melt a bag of chocolate chips in a big bowl. Add the crushed Oreos to that bowl. Mix, then spread onto a baking dish prepared with wax paper. Then you get to decorate! For this Halloween edition, I used orange candy melts and some spooky sprinkles.

[Candy melt/chocolate life hack: if you’re going to pipe or drizzle chocolate, I think using a ziploc bag is the easiest (and the least messy) method. To gently melt the chocolate and keep it smooth, microwave a glass of water for about a minute and then stick the bag in there! Every few seconds, take the bag out and squish it around to mix. When you’re ready to start decorating, snip a corner of the bag.]

Finally, freeze your bark (for at least an hour or two), then break it apart. It may be helpful to use a butter knife for this but I generally find it easiest to use my hands.
The last snack I made was something really creative and thrown together, but it ended up being so good I’m gonna make it again. I melted butterscotch chips in a bowl then added a splash of vanilla and dash of cinnamon. I drizzled this mix over popcorn and a handful of peanuts for a sweet, creamy, salty snack full of fall flavor!

Here is my finished snack platter. Everything on here was delicious, and my fiancé was quite impressed. I’m not sure what could be better than getting comfy on the couch with these snacks and your favorite Halloween movie or show.
