Studio Sweets at Universal Studios Florida

I love a sweet shoppe, because I love anything with a lil candy and baked good theming. I am INTO sugar. At a theme park, these are classics. But these days, the quick service restaurants are serving up some amazing treats, so you can get your sugar fix other places. Of course, though, I did pick up a few things from Studio Sweets last time we were at Universal Studios Florida. 🙂

The best thing about fudge is how long it lasts, and how little you need to eat at a time to fully satisfy a craving for sweets. I got a square of Salted Caramel Chocolate, which was delicious. Highly recommend. I also tried Key Lime, which was a bit too sweet even for me. I didn’t enjoy this one as much. A richer flavor, or maybe some graham cracker sprinkled across the top, would have made it much more enjoyable.

I DO recommend, over fudge, cookies! Grabbing cookies from this spot or this kind of spot is actually a great idea. They travel well, and if stored in an airtight container, ziploc bag, or plastic wrap, they’re good for a couple of weeks. This makes them an awesome gift for those back home, or a way to keep living your trip after you’ve returned.

Above is a raspberry chip cookie, with white and milk chocolate chips. This was literally excellent. I love a cookie that is soft inside and crispy outside, and this was that. They’re also huge! And they have a variety of types/flavors. Yay cookies!

These themed chocolate bars were at the register of pretty much every gift shop, as well as in the candy shops. They are really cheap and they are cute, but honestly I’d only recommend them if you’re gonna keep the package because it’s cute and never eat the candy. LMAO

The Jurassic Park Dinosaur Fossil bar was the cutest, I thought. It had a T-Rex fossil on the front and lil candy bones visible from the back. The chocolate tasted cheap and artificial and not fresh, and the bones were painfully crunchy, but like, a cute idea.

The Minion Fuel bar with banana bits was the least bad of the three I tried. I think the banana bits (crushed up banana chips) added enough flavor that the “chocolate” wasn’t so offensive, so I actually finished this one!

I was probably was most looking forward to trying the Grinch-themed Mint Cookie bar, and it was just as disappointing as the Jurassic Park-themed bar. The mint flavor was very strong and was more of a toothpastey kind of mint flavor than a confection kind of mint flavor. That’s my opinion!!

Sweet Shoppes are cute and fun to look around in, but in my experience the packaged sweets are never as good as you want them to be. Fudge can be good if you pick the right flavor, but overall, I recommend sticking to the bakery case. There are more options than just cookies too, of course, like Rice Krispie treats, cupcakes, and caramel apples!

This ride tells a full story, and all of the technology involved is amazing. It’s just SO GOOD! 1. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they sell these online! They do have them at the checkout at almost every gift shop around the resort
