Our Disney World Itinerary

Thought I’d post our itinerary from our last trip to Disney World! Lots has changed since then, so obviously there is plenty we would need and want to do differently, but we did heavily research and work hard on this itinerary so it may still be beneficial to see. I also have some tips to share!

It’s important to consult a map when making your itinerary so that you’re sure you’ll be moving around the park in a way that makes sense. It’s also wise to consider what attractions might be best at a certain time of day, or that are only possible at a certain time of day (like shows and fireworks). If you’re staying on property, you should also make note of Extra Magic Hours! Parks are busier on days with Extra Magic Hours, but those hours are only open to guests staying at property hotels so they should definitely be taken advantage of.

The next most important things to consider are your FastPass reservations. You can make FastPasses well in advance of your trip, so you shouldn’t start your itinerary until you have these nailed down. It’s best to decide what day you want things to happen and have a preferred time in mind, in case you have options in terms of when to schedule your FastPass. Stay flexible, though, and be ready to just take what’s available and plan the rest of your day around the FastPasses you were able to secure!

Another important thing to remember is the time you’ll want to spend shopping and just looking around, and that you might need to grab a snack or rest for a minute at some point in your day. It’s best to be flexible and schedule extra room! A tight schedule might seem like the best way to get a lot done, but it also might cause a lot of stress and prevent you from actually having the best time possible. We did most of our scheduling in blocks. We set a period of time and listed the things we wanted to get done in that time, so that we could pick what to do based on current wait times and also had the wiggle room to get a snack, use the restroom, sit down, watch a few minutes of a parade or street act, or stop into a gift shop.

Here is our sample itinerary for an adult Disney trip! Hopefully this inspires or informs your own next trip to the parks.

  1. […] Omg this ride is so insanely fun. It’s not the most intense/thrilling ride, but it goes fast, is super smooth, and is seriously fun. It’s very richly themed- the inside of the mine is covered in brightly colored gemstones and it’s amazing. We rode at night and it was magical. Above is a pic of Jon and I having a blast on it! With some other folks whose faces have been covered by orbs, for their privacy of course. (If you want, you can read more about my most recent Disney trip here or here). […]
